The desire to lead God’s people has always been a passion of Pastor O since the day he was called to proclaim the Gospel. However, Pastor O envisioned that he would lead God’s people by taking over an existing church. It was never in his plan to plant a church. We all have experienced those times when we have our own agenda and God decides to shake things up, redirect our feet to walk in the direction He wants . God spoke to Pastor O loud and clear through the scriptures, specifically Joshua 1:1-9 and Matthew 16:18. God assured him, just as He had been with Moses and then with Joshua, He would also be with him. God also revealed to him the same message He told Peter, that He would build His church and all the powers in hell would not stop it.
When he shared the news with his wife Rosalyn, she was both relieved and elated. Rosalyn shared with Pastor O that God had already prepared her for this moment and she was not surprised. During her quiet moments with God she strongly discerned that God would use him to start a church. They immediately prayed for God’s guidance and began preparing for the vision that God was bringing forth. They reached out to a few mentoring pastors and wives and a few trusted believers who also joined them collectively in prayer for the direction of this new beautiful work.
After countless hours of prayer the name Revive Bible Church was confirmed. The name is very important because it identifies who we are. Revive means to return to life, consciousness, and strength. Bible is God’s instructional manual to mankind for righteous living. Church is the assembly of believers for the specific purpose of worshiping God and serving others. In essence, at Revive we are simply people that have been made alive through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We strive to be like Christ through daily application of the Word of God in our lives. As result, we meet weekly to express our gratitude to God through praise and worship, fellowship with one another and sharing the life-changing Gospel with others in our community.
Over the past year the Holy Spirit has developed a group of loving, committed, and faithful followers through our Monday Night Bible Study. We will begin having regular Sunday worship services in March 2015.
